Which games are behind these films?
- Sonic the Hedgehog 4: the fourth film in the live-action/CG SEGA series.
- The Legend of Zelda: Nintendo’s live-action fantasy, directed by Wes Ball. Nintendo has not identified one game as the definitive plot blueprint in its title announcement.
- A Minecraft Movie Squared: the sequel based on Mojang’s block-building universe.
- Helldivers: a live-action adaptation of the PlayStation franchise, with Justin Lin attached to direct in the release report.
Is every game adaptation a family movie?
No. Game branding does not establish an age rating. Check the final U.S. rating for the specific film before planning a family visit.
What about films still in development?
A development announcement or fan trailer is not a theatrical date. Projects without a supported 2027 U.S. release remain outside this dated list.
Schedule reviewed September 22, 2026. Future release plans can change.
